[Birds of a feather, flock together.] Proverbs 1:10-19, 24-32, 13:20; Spirit of slumber, strong delusion, believe a lie:Deuteronomy 29:4; Psalm 146:3; Isaiah 6:9-10, 29:10-12, 59:10 [can't see the truth, spiritual eyes are closed]; Jeremiah 9:4-5; Ezekiel 20:25 [He sends you delusion, if you ask for it.]; Matthew 25:5; Romans 11:8; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11; Spiritual wickedness in high places.Ephesians 6:12; Micah 3:11; Matthew 21:15; These types are in preaching for their own gain only. They don't care about you or your soul. Money is usually the reason they do anything. Their goal is not preaching God's word. These verses explain that, if you just open up your eyes and ears. It is sad, even evil spirits knew who Jesus was, but many so called priests did not. The same could be expected of priests today. Do false teachers ever tell you to search for the truth yourself? More than likely not, because in most cases don’t even realize they are teaching false doctrines! The reason for that is biblical illiteracy due to not studying their Bibles. Not to worry my friend. Study the Bible completely yourself; don't let anyone deceive you, cut out the middleman, check them out in the Bible, try the spirits [1 John 4:1! Rome wasn't built in a day, so be patient and diligent. Pray for guidance and understanding. Study the bible yourself, daily, if possible. Where does judgment begin? See 1 Peter 4:17. Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries [proof of their own holiness], and enlarge the borders of their garments [advance their own reputation], (tell-tale signs of false preachers). Again, see 1 Peter 4:17 [Where does judgment begin? With Christians and false teachers for sure].
If you want to be free from the bondage of deception, (caused by listening to false teachers), learn the truth by studying the word of God completely as we are commanded to do; see the following verses. Another really good reason to study is you will not hear God’s word today where you should hear His word (in church). 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: (That famine for hearing the Word of the Lord is upon us now. People are starving for the truth in the Word. Sadly, fairy tales, false teachings, traditions and commandments of men are all that are taught in most churches today. You can overcome the famine by actually studying the word of God yourself; what a concept).
