Jeremiah 23:1 (KJV) Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. [These pastors are not of God, and lead people away from the true Shepherd, who is Jesus Christ. Pastors who teach doctrines and traditions of men (i.e., rapture doctrine and begging for money), scatter the sheep of God's flock. When those scattered sheep study God's Word and hear the true words of the Good Shepherd, they are brought back into the flock of the Good Shepherd, who is Christ. It is not a good idea to teach and heed doctrines of men. Teach Christ's doctrines only; see 2 John 1:9-11 (KJV). Also, it might help you if you are a preacher or a teacher of God’s word to look at and learn from Malachi 2:1-2:17 (KJV). This must be repeated often so at least some preachers can learn what to do so they don’t fall into the category of false teacher. Study the word of God; what a concept].Jeremiah 23:2 (KJV) Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. [They drive the people away from God instead of leading them to God. They scatter the people teaching them church doctrine and traditions of men instead of the Word of God. Judgment is coming upon these false teachers if they continue in their ways without repentance. Ezekiel chapter 13 is very, very important also. Where does judgment begin? God's house which includes the pulpit! See 1 Peter 4:17 (KJV)]. Matthew 12:36 (KJV) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. [This leans towards false teachings and traditions of men. This word "idle" is "argos" G692 in the Strong's Concordance; it means lazy, barren or useless. The word "speak" used here means to preach. This applies to those who preach and teach the Word. Remember, judgment begins in God's house; that includes pulpits. Don't pay heed to anyone including a preacher or teacher that doesn't know what he or she is talking about]. Matthew 12:37 (KJV) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. [All of us, including pastors, will be held accountable for what we say and teach. God's Word is what should be taught; His word is truth, John 17:17 (KJV)]. Mark 7:13 (KJV) Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. [You cancel out the Word of God in order to hand down your own traditions. Christ warned against these traditions of men in many verses]. Acts 17:11 (KJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. [Sounds like a really good example to follow. Receive the word with all readiness of mind, but search the scriptures to verify (true or not true) what you have just heard from a friend, relative, preacher, teacher or pastor. Put your trust in God, not man; see Jeremiah 17:5 and 17:7. We are commanded to study God’s word; see 2 Timothy 2:15 in a KJV Bible. Have you complied with this command? Sadly, most so-called preachers and church attendees have not].  False teachers say salvation can be bought! Wrong answer my friend!I see this misrepresented each and every day on TV. So, so many get this wrong, they think a ticket to heaven can be bought with earthly money; many think you can just throw some money at a problem and it is solved. Wrong answer! What about the folks that have no money, are they excluded? This is a KJV Bible study guide; please print this out.Believe it or not, tithing actually has a true purpose. The true purpose follows: we are encouraged to aid and support the sharing of God's true word, not to muzzle it or counter it by supporting false teachings. What happens when we support the teaching of God's true word? By tithing correctly, His truths can be shared with more people; this results in increasing the size of the Kingdom of God; it's not a self-centered act. What happens if we support someone that teaches falsely? 2 John 1:9-11 tells us. Don't support someone who teaches a doctrine other than Christ's; you partake of their evil deeds if you do. Please read the following verses very carefully.Proverbs 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.Ezekiel 7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity.Study your Bibles completely and diligently (again, see 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)). If you study and learn what is really in His Word, God will approve you for His work. By studying you become one that can't be easily deceived by a so-called preacher and won't deceive others with false doctrines. Become one who can discern truth from falsehood and completely avoid falsehood. Try the spirits; 1 John 4:1 (KJV). Also, see the complete chapter of Ezekiel 13 if you want to know what God thinks about false teachers/prophets of His word; not a good place to be for sure. Also, God does not send out beggars. If someone is begging for your money saying you can buy a blessing, God didn’t send them. Again, where does judgment begin? See 1 Peter 4:17 in a KJV Bible. There is only one truth you can count on eternally and that is truth from God’s Word. If someone says something is true, verify it is true or false by checking it out in God’s Word. This responsibility falls on each of us; again, see 1 John 4:1. What you may have learned in some seminary is not good enough; verify what you may have heard by actually studying God’s word and see if it is true that way you can and should share those truths with others.
