This is a KJV Bible study guide on lying and liars. Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Number nine of the ten commandments). John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (Who is the father of liars and lying? The devil, Satan, Lucifer, etc. See Revelation 12:9). Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (In other words, actions speak louder than words. It is really easy to tell if someone is serving the true God or Satan by the words they speak; God’s truths or Satan’s lies. Listen, then verify in Gods word what you’ve heard to see if it was a true or a false; that is your responsibility not the responsibility of someone else). *Another facet of the topic (lying and liars) among the many! What does our God think of deceit, deceivers, lying and liars that don't repent and change their ways? See the following verses for your answer: Psalm 101:7; Proverbs 6:16-17; John 8:44; Revelation 12:9 and 21:8 (there are many more). *God cannot lie like we humans can and do! Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? 1 Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.Psalm 89:35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Isaiah 14:24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. (Do you need to know any more than this? What happens if you place your trust in man? See Jeremiah 17:5 for your answer). John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (This is Jesus speaking). Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: *Lying or bearing false witness is not the unpardonable sin if one seeks and asks for Gods forgiveness in truth. See Psalm 145:18.Satan’s stock in trade is lies and deception. He has warehouses full of them! He will always oblige those who have little to no Biblical knowledge. He has filled the world with trivial pursuits, and the unwary gladly taste their delights. To have no knowledge of God’s wonderful word is bad enough, but the majority of Christians are satisfied with their ignorance. They have no thought that knowledge is preparation for eternity. How do you tell when someone is lying? See if what they are saying checks out in God’s word; yea or nay. Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Study the Bible completely as we are commanded to do; gain in biblical knowledge and Godly wisdom. You will discover many things that you will never hear while sitting on a church pew. Also, you can resist deception by actually studying the Bible; what a concept. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
